She's still asleep after another fitful night of coughing.
I'm told it's allergies but honestly this morning, you couldn't sell me that diagnosis cheap.
"Whooping Cough epidemic spreads through San Francisco and NorCal" crawls through my day like that annoying news feed at the bottom of the TV when something supposable important is happening. (How OJ or Jlo or Lady Gaga make the crawl is still beyond me.)
The cough, oh the cough. It's not seal like or barking just a dry, nasty, hacking cough that never ceases.
I've tried everything I can think of;
Cough syrup (she hates it)
Codeine cough syrup (hates this more)
Honey Lemon tea (insisted she would vomit)
Humidifier, off to purchase today (totally keeping my fingers crossed!)
So people, help a girl out! What do you do? What are you tricks of the trade? How do you ease your babies persistent cough?
In the meantime, would you pray for Sleeping Beauty? She's miserable.
Thank Ya'll!
It's all for HIM <3 Suzanne aka M2M
Praying. Those coughs are no fun. We have been hanging on to ours like its gold. You are doing all the right things. I had the WC test done at the hospital, and it is not pleasant. But, the negative result brought a huge piece of mind.
ReplyDeleteWhere is she sleeping? A recliner was the best place for me. Spent a couple weeks there.
Praying for you Sleeping Beauty. :)
A weird thing that works for my kids and no one seems to know why is once you put them to bed to rub Vicks VapoRub into the soles of their feet and then put their socks on them. Seriously works for my kids!
ReplyDeleteI have her propped up in her bed, which seems to help. Tonight it's on to the Vicks! Thanks my friends!
ReplyDeleteIf she hasn't been already, insist that she gets checked for asthma...and if she's not on meds for these 'allergies', try some and see if it works. I used to have cough myself to sleep; it was awful. Then I got on better allergy medication and we got rid of our cats. I slept MUCH better after that...whatever it is, hopefully it's short-lived. If it is allergies they may just be seasonal....
